Reputations are fragile and important to many people. They might take years to cultivate and begin with simply and aspire to be much greater than they can ever be. Reputation is defined as being the overall quality or character as seen or judged by people in general. More than that, it is subjective to consider what makes a person look at another person in that way or light. It might not be fair for them to have this view and it might even be completely erroneous. False reputations are many in the open world and in our daily lives. Consider further that in the world of online access it is even approaching the norm. There is a growing need for Computer and Cellular Monitoring products such as Mobile Spy.

Isn’t this sad to say, I ponder as I am writing this article. I also can remember back when we did not have a thing to worry about as far as permanency. If a rumor would pop up, it could be squelched. If it could not be ended there, then the alternative would be to wait until the next scandal occurred on the school yard. But now that we have digitized everything in our existence, we have limited alternatives to turn to in this online life we have created. It is saddening and approaches shocking to see that a rumor or flat out lie can be almost permanent.

The reason that the dings to our reputation’s are permanent is because of the way we communicate has changed. People are not more mean or evil, I think not. Now cowardice is another thing but we can explore that a bit later on. If you will, please indulge me and think back to elementary or Junior High school. If you can you remember back that far you can consider yourself lucky because you are still younger than many. We used to pass notes on crumpled pieces of paper. Notes that said you though he or she was cute or do you like me might have been written on the note. Notes might have been left in lockers that were nasty and accusatory, like calling someone a bad name even though it was not even true. Even though the kids were tough back then the nastiness was only verbal or on paper, which was bad enough. These days though, it is digitized, ones and zeros and permanent. Facebook does not through away their servers hard drives like a piece of notebook or Big Chief paper, like back in the day.

So now we and moreover our children are faced with the permanency of what they do or say online. They are subjected to what other kids do and say online as well. This can be many times more painful that what they have done on their own. Regardless of truth, that is not the issue. It is a concern of health and permanency, what will come of this once these words or notions are released into the world of backups where notebook paper is just a background theme on their personal twitter page?

Anonymity is another very important subject to discuss that is often overlooked. There is a new phenomenon out there that I want people to be aware of and I will coin the phrase here and now. It shall be called “Socialnymity.” The word I have created is defined by me as follows: Socialnymity is the feeling of lessened social responsibility on Social Networking websites or the Internet through lack of Face to Face contact. When certain people experience this feeling of “Socialnymity,” it can cause them to sometimes be more callous and hurtful in their interactions online. They can feel empowered by the seeming lack of true repercussions of their online behavior. “Cyber-bullying” is a direct symptom of this feeling of “Socialnymity.”

Socialnymity is a word that might as well be adopted into the common English vernacular. It is unfortunately here to stay and is something that will continue to cause issues for people young and old. Online Reputation Scrubbing, Online Reputation Prevention, Online Reputation Management are all the future tasks we will all be in need of and much of this is because of Socialnymity.

Keyloggers also known as Keystroke-loggers.  The act of keystroke logging can take place in many types of ways. What does Keylogging actually mean? It is the method of recording aka logging, the keys that are depressed on a computer or smart-phone’s keyboard. This is usually done in a secretive way that keeps the keyboard user unaware and in the dark about being monitored. This text entered onto the computer and/or smart-phone are then usually recorded off to another device or saved on the device with the keyboard itself.

Way more ways than most people think.  Some of the different ways include:

• Software Keyloggers
• Hardware Keyloggers
• Acoustic keyloggers
• Optical type keyloggers
• Keyboard overlays
• Wireless keyboard sniffers

Keyloggers for Windows and Macs

Software Keyloggers- These are by far the most common and the ones that are used by most people interested in detecting suspicious type activity on computers or smartphones of interest.  There are basically two kind that can be grouped together. The two kinds we consider basic and remote.

• Basic Keyloggers run underneath the client operating systems such as Symbian, Windows, Mac, etc. These will record the Data and keep it local on the device to be accessed at a later time.  Recording all keystrokes that have taken place.
• Remote Keyloggers run in a similar way undetected on the client device, detecting Instant messages, texting, and the text that goes along with sexting; anything that needs the keyboard to communicate.  This kind of software will copy the same information as the software mentioned above and in addition it will SEND a copy of the keystrokes to another computer where the one can read the information withought having to access the computer of interest.
• Note: Many times the better keyloggers will store the information on a websites secure section that is dedicated to only the customer.  This allows you to access the information remotely from your office, cafe or anyplace private.  These are the most secretive of Remote Software Keyloggers and some varieties are listed on this page.

Keyloggers for Cell and Mobile Phones

Hardware Keyloggers- These come in different forms and a couple different ways of use.  With these everything you need is actually in the hardware so there is no need to install any software and the data is kept on the device itself.  You can usually access the information via a special combination of keystrokes. The most stealthy of these are more difficult to install and will actually be placed “in-line” but inside the keyboard case.  This makes it almost impossible to detect.  But in general these hardware loggers are really difficult to detect.  They do not interfere with any program on the computer, so there is less chance of detection.

• PS2 In-line Keylogger- These will fit inline between the keyboard and monitor.  Using the Unique older style PS2 fittings.  These are quite easy to spot if you know what to look for.
• USB In-line Keylogger- These are also easy to spot but are becoming more and more common everyday.  Since everything almost that is produced today is USB2.0 format, these are very popular.

Acoustic Keyloggers- These keyloggers are rare indeed but very sophisticated.  They listen in to the keys on a keyboard as they are struck.  Keeping track of the frequency and patterns they also recognize that each key makes a different sound.  The information of many hundreds of keys must be sampled before an assumption of what was typed can actually be made.

Optical Keyloggers- This is referred to as a keylogger simply because it is a way of tracking keystrokes.  In truth it is more like video surveillance.  Placing a camera or hidden camera in view of the keyboard that is of interest.  This could be very complicated for many reasons, such as hiding the camera and being able to clearly see what keys are struck, especially for those that type at a very fast rate.

Keyboard Overlays- These are just a way that some criminals trick people into entering their pins at ATMS.  This is not a method of insuring parental control and safety.

Wireless Keyboard Sniffers- The keyboard sniffers are sniffers that actually are not wired in any way at all.  They can record the traffic as it passes through the air.  This method will only work if the computer of interest uses a wireless keyboard (of course.)  Also, wireless keyboards have encryption between the keyboard and computer; and for this to work the password codes have to be known.
