Parental Control Software for Windows 7
Many of these Parental Control Software programs for the new Windows 7 and Vista OS are to make and keep our computers free of Mal-ware and Viruses more than keeping our children and employees away from forbidden content or dangerous predators. Trojans, worms, viruses as they are called can infect your laptop or PC computer system and make them impaired or even unusuable, even sending out emails to all on your address book! Not all of the software that works on Windows XP will work on Windows 7. Additionally there is the issue of 32 bit vs. 64 bit. Many will work on windows 32 bit processor but not 64 bit processor. So, please know what you have before you buy your software.
Here we list some of the programs available that are designed to prevent infection of your Windows 7 system. Some on the list but not limited to are:
- Kaspersky Anti-Virus
- McAffee Anti-Virus
- Norton Anti-Virus
- TrendMicro Anti-Virus
There are also many programs besides these aforementioned that are solely aimed at cleaning and quarantining Viruses, Trojans, and Malware. These are usually called Malware Removal Tools. These products will go (once installed) and check every file and registry entry on your Windows 7 or Vista machine and either remove or quarantine the offending Trojan, Virus, or malware. They will usually show you once the full or quick scan has completed the list of files that are considered dangerous. A common list of Mal-ware Removal Tools is following.
- Trend Micro Hijack This
- MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
- Sbybot Search and Destroy
- Ad-Aware Free Anti-Malware
- IOBit Security 360
As you can see there are many choices and at many different prices and many are free. Some cable and satillite Internet providers such as Comcast provide Antivirus for free with their Internet service so be sure to ask.
Please post with direct questions and good luck.
