There is a new Parental Control Software and laptop for Windows. It is made for concerned parents that have small children that are surfing the net or playing on the computer in general. Don’t laugh, it’s Called the Pee Wee Kit. (named after a childs nickname, not the actor) We have not had the chance to test it yet but it looks promising.
It is fairly cheap considering, 30 dollars or so. So, if you have the money it can transform your pc or old laptop into a childsafe Internet ready machine with built in games and child safe monitors. They are supposed to protect your child on The Internet.
The PeeWee for Windows should keep the machine free from Malware, Virus, porn, inappropriate materials, etc. You also have the ability with this software to monitor the kiddies remotely. Very nice feature that is becoming more expected as time goes by. In order to install the Parental Control Software, you simply run it (the PeeWee Software) by USB or the CD-Rom included in the package.
It comes included with Educational Computer games that are defined on their website as follows:
- Science House
- Zoombinis Mountain Rescue
- Reader Rabbit
- Where in the World in Carmen Sandiego?
- Oregon Trail
- Bailey Book House
- Trudy’s Time & Place House
- Sammy’s Science House
- Millie’s Math House
- Thinkin’ Things
- Mighty Math Carnival Countdown
Excerpt from their site:
“PeeWee Patrol & PeeWee Privacy Protects Children from Internet & Computer Content
PeeWee Kit includes a security suite with PeeWee Patrol for computer access controls and PeeWee Privacy for Internet privacy, giving parents full control of how and when their children use the laptop. The PeeWee security software lets parents limit how much time their children spend browsing the Internet (on a daily or weekly basis), block inappropriate sites with any version of any web browser, take screen shots, view browsing history, and even control the laptop remotely. Additionally, the PeeWee security suite also lets parents limit the amount of time children spend gaming and protects the laptop by preventing children from changing system settings.
A nearly $150 retail value, the PeeWee Kit is available for a budget-friendly price tag of only $29.99 with free shipping included. In addition, a CD-ROM version with 4 titles will be available for $19.99. The PeeWee Kit requires Windows 7, Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Vista Service Pack 1 operating systems, Pentium processor or higher, and an available USB port..”
